What is a life if it cannot be used to touch others in some way? This recent realization has drawn me to the Hopkins 4K and its inspiring cause. As an individual whose life has recently been turned around by cycling, I am proud to have the opportunity to, in turn, use cycling to help touch the lives of others as we travel from coast to coast.

I am extremely fortunate to have never had a close encounter with cancer. I deeply want to deserve this blessing, and hope that this journey will leave me with an appreciation of the brave struggles waged by countless individuals on a daily basis. I want to learn to live my life in such a way that would honor anyone who has ever been affected by cancer.

This summer, then, I ride to support the fight against cancer, but I also ride with the broader purpose of renewing hope in humanity, both for myself and for everyone I meet on the way.

Future Goals:
As a student of both music and engineering, I am constantly searching for a means to bring my two passions together. As a result, I hope to pursue a career or higher education in Acoustics, a field full of broad - and sometimes surprising – scientific applications.
