I was first attracted to Hopkins 4K by the sheer immensity of the idea, 4000 miles for Cancer awareness. It is not often enough in life we are given the opportunity to make such bold strides in bettering the lives of others, that is exactly why I decided to make this trip. I have been fortunate enough not have had very many brushes with Cancer in my family but this does not justify nor condone apathy toward the issue. Countless numbers of people the world over are confronting or will confront the challenges of fighting cancer, by taking part in this I hope to help make a difference in such lives as I know such lives will make a difference in my life. This ride is my way of helping fight Cancer, by raising funds, volunteering and spreading awareness. Hopkins 4K is exactly the sort of endeavor that humanity needs and requires to make substantial strides in the fight against cancer. Through this ride I also hope to promote the needs of cancer patients the world over; our ride may be a US thing but cancer is not, it’s a global problem and requires global action and collaboration.

Future Goals: I plan on becoming a neurosurgeon and spending most of my time overseas working with Doctors Without Borders, after that I hope to work back in the States with the UN or the WHO helping to promote universal access to healthcare and higher standards for healthcare.
