Cancer has affected many of my friends and extended family members.
When I was a senior in high school it finally touched my immediate
family. My father was diagnosed with a sarcoma. Fortunately, after
nine months of intensive treatment he seems to be free of cancer.
Since starting college I have been an activist in supporting the
homeless, and have been an active volunteer through domestic and
international non-profit organizations such as UNESCO. But, Hopkin4K
is really special for me. It provides a unique opportunity for me to
share an incredible experience with people with similar values and
goals, and to directly contribute to the overall effort to find a cure
for cancer.
I will graduate from Denison University in 2009 with a double major
in Spanish and Economics. My wish is to get a MBA in business and work
with an international company where I will be able to use my language
skills and work with people from other countries.
