Hope. I love that word… I love the very idea of that word. And it is for that reason that I am riding 4,000 miles across the country this summer: hope. Giving hope to the amazing people at the Hope Lodge, giving hope to all of the cancer patients and cancer survivors and caretakers across the United States. Giving hope to everyone that we will find a cure for cancer, through efforts all across the United States and the world. Hope for a world where cancer will be a thing of the past.
I am riding also in honor of a man whose life continues to give me hope to this day -- my grandfather, who passed away from colon cancer two years ago.
I want to ride in honor of my grandfather and in honor of every cancer patient and every cancer survivor.
And, I want to ride for hope. To inspire hope for all of those people who have been touched by cancer.
Future plans: My life-plans change just about everyday. But for right now, I hope to go into the Peace Corps after I graduate.
