Though I have never experienced the burden of a loved one diagnosed with cancer, I have had two close friends in college who have shared their stories with me. Last year, a friend helped me discover a way in which I could reach more people struggling with this burden. I am riding in the memory of my friend’s mother who died from cancer this past summer, and for another friend’s father who continues to battle with it.

Future Goals: I am going to medical school after this amazing, life-changing summer experience and hope to use the knowledge that I gained from this trip throughout my career as a physician.
