Day Six (70 Miles) Richfield, OH to Sand
Following a day cut short by thunderstorms, the group was eager to commence the flat, scenic ride to Sandusky, Ohio. The absence of hills made for quite an enjoyable trip, complete with some newly invented biking games, a nice Mexican style lunch, and a picturesque landscape. Unfortunately, the serenity of the ride was interrupted by a few pothole-induced crashes and close calls, yet unwavering group support make for speedy recoveries.
The conclusion of today’s fairly short trek brought the Hopkins 4K to another YMCA. We excitedly ate another free dinner out at a local restaurant and came back to the Y to hang out as a group. We spent most of the evening together and continued to get to know each other. We all stayed up late and had a great time in anticipation of our first day off.
