Blown away by the Windy City
Today was a smooth ride with a nice tail wind. We got escorted by the van out of Chicago, and then we separated into different pace groups after the first water break. For lunch, Team Donate talked to the manager of a Fuddruckers along the route about the 4k trip, and they donated lunch for us! They were very generous, and the serving sizes were huge. When we had all finished our meals, they brought out three more plates of Chicken Caesar Salad.

We got the full tail wind after lunch… and then it rained. But it cleared up quickly and we were dry by the time we reached the YMCA in Kankakee.

Some of us had the opportunity to go to the Kankakee bike shop. They donated labor. Then, we drove to the local church, who donated an awesome potluck dinner with fruits, vegetables, beans, pasta, with a varied selection of meats and deserts. The highlight of the day was teaching Alex, a 5 year old boy, to “party- foul.”

Then, we went back to the YMCA to sleep.
