Hangin' out at the Hospice
We had an interesting day off in Topeka, KS. We had to wake up mad early (~6:45) and head over to the Midland Hospice, where we spent most of the day. We learned a lot about the healthcare system and it was amazing to see how Medicare takes care of people in their last months of life. We met some incredibly strong and amazing senior citizens including Harold, the 87 year old Alzheimer patient who would pinch nurses’ bottoms and danced like he was 18 again.

We later played with children at the daycare and had a great time. They had tons of energy and really lightened the mood at the BBQ with the seniors.

The rest of the day was quite restful, watching the movie Phone Booth, one of the dumbest movies I’ve seen. We awoke the next day to Emily having shaved her entire head.
