Green River, UT
Today was not an ideal 4k day. Due to unfortunate circumstances, we had to shuttle 25 miles in lieu of biking. The only way to get to Green River State Park was to take I-70, which is unbikable, The riders biked the first 30 miles, while I drove the van out to pick them up. We took three trips to get all the stuff and bikes and riders to the park. Because we only rode 30 miles we reached the park by noon, and had the day to ourselves, This was no fun day off as we were forced to sit for hours in the hot 115 degree weather for 9 hours until the sun set, We passed the time by going for ice cream and going to the beach nearby, The beach was enjoyable because the water was cool, but our time there was cut short because storm clouds approached and we wanted to get back to secure the tents and put up rain guards. Fortunately it didn’t rain and all our stuff was okay. Needless to say our first night camping was not the best day we had ever had. By nightfall we were tired, sweaty, and covered in bug bites. But we are all hopeful that we will get this camping thing down and we all look forward to what tomorrow brings.
