Fayette, OH
Today’s route took us from Sandusky, OH, to Fayette, OH. We had spent the night at Jacksonville Junior High, and in the morning were able to spend some time with the young students and give them a presentation in the effort to raise their awareness of cancer. They surprised us all with astute and knowledgeable responses to our questions on cancer prevention. Of special note was one student, Ariel, who moved us all by donating to the cause the moment she heard about our mission.
The day’s ride was dedicated to Gina, the daughter of the Vice-Principal at Jacksonville, who is currently undergoing difficult cancer treatments and radiation therapy for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the tender age of 12. She is currently on the mend, her tumors have reduced in size and the cancer seems to be under control. Gina, we keep you in our hearts and hope for your speedy recovery.
Today was a tough even though the terrain was flat, as we faced strong cross-headwinds which made the ride much more difficult.
We arrived in Fayette, and met our hosts at the Fayette Christian Church. In the evening, we were treated to a most delicious potluck dinner. I would like to reiterate our deepest appreciation to the great people of Fayette who provided so generously for us.
Sincerely,
Aaron Tan
