This morning we had the privalege of meeting the 6 riders from the cross-country for cancer group (http://www.crosscountryforcancer.org/). Their route was from West to East, and much more direct than ours. Their trip was estimated to take about half the time ours was to take.

A very interesting thing happened between our group and these chaps. You see, the ladies in the 4k were a little burnt-out on the stunning physique of the 4k men. Who can blame them? Call it over-exposure, too much of a good thing, overindulgence, what have you.

Anyways, I observed at my breakfast table, and among the many 4k women, a very intense interest in these 6 young men. "Breath-taking", "Babes," and "the royal family of cross country cycling" were all words used by the 4k ladies to describe these guys.

From a 4k male's perspective, I can say that despite the impressive ability to extract doting from our girls, they inspired us and kept us motivated and encouraged. They wrote about us on their website that night, and our entire group huddled around Katie's laptop at the campsite and roared with laughter as we read their stories from the road and read their story about their encounter with the 4k. Our spirits were lifted and our tanks were filled. They also had the distinguished pleasure of watching Jake K. take on a motorcycle one-on-one, and almost win! Oh Jake, so ambitious.
