Day off in Chicago
The Windy City proved true to its name on our day off. Though we are told that the name actually refers to Chicago’s history of “windy” politicians, we were met by gale force winds all day long. Our team found a variety of ways to escape the winds, some people went on a boat tour of Chicago while others went to hunt down some of Chicago’s deep dish pizza. Many riders were able to find the time to make it to the Aquarium during the day where Nancy Goodman had left the whole team free tickets. We would like to thank Nancy for doing this, the aquarium was one of the highlights of the day off in Chicago.

At night about half the team met up with 4K founder Ryan Hanley for a pizza dinner. We ate pizza and watched baseball at Ryan’s apartment and told tales of the road. Finally we all headed back to our beds at the University of Illinois Chicago, ready for the day ahead that would take us to Kankakee.
