I graduated from Hopkins in 2006 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. I still live in Baltimore, and I work for an engineering consulting firm in Towson. I have been lucky enough not to have lost anyone close to me to cancer, but I have known many people who have fought hard to overcome it, and lived to tell. Whatever the outcome, cancer takes over a person's life and changes everything around them, sometimes losing the person in the midst. I am doing this ride to help inspire others with this great physical and mental challenge, and to be inspired by the cancer survivors that I have met at the Hope Lodge and those that I will meet on the way to California. I hope to spread awareness of cancer prevention, and for those that already have cancer, to share with them my tales of survival and hope in the hopes that it will help them fight that little bit harder.
