Boulder or bust!
This morning, we set out from Wiggins, Colorado for Boulder. Babak, Pat D., Sumeet, Rajeev, Dave and myself enjoyed a great breakfast at "Grandma's Kitchen" before hitting the road. As always, Rajeev's tiger-like appetite helped him finish a chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and toast all in one sitting.

In order to catch up with the rest of the group, we rode "all out" until we met the "G-train" (Gloria's group) at the first water stop. While we were taking our break and enjoying a view of the Rockies in the distance, we had an unlikely guest. His name was Randy, a.k.a. "the biking bum." Randy was riding a (heavy!) 1960s Schwinn that he had purchased at a flea market. He told us how he had started in Colorado Springs and had since been through many of the states through which we had passed, as well as many more! Randy certainly gave us something to think about. He is one of the happiest people that I have met, and all he had was an old bike, a pair of clothes, a Pokemon bookbad and a loaf of bread.

Lunch was in Hudson and it was the quickest stop we have made so far. Perhaps the brevity of our stay was due to our eagerness to see Boulder!

When we got near the city limits, we passed many bikes along the way--there was actually the rare luxury of a bike lane! In Boulder, we stayed at an awesome community center where we spent time resting up and relaxing after eight solid days of biking without a break... (in Kansas, too!)
