EDIT2: Remember, we welcome applicants from schools other than Hopkins! It doesn't matter if you're from a West Coast school, Midwestern one, or even an international one--everyone from all over can apply!
In case you have failed to notice the bright yellow flyers around
campus, information sessions are going to be held really soon!
They are...
September 14th, 3:30-4:30pm, Clipper Room (Shriver)
September 17th, 3:30-4:30pm, Sherwood Room (Levering)
October 6th, 3:30-4:30pm, Clipper Room (Shriver)
If you're interested in applying to the 2007 Hopkins 4K group, come to these sessions to find out more about what we do and how to apply!
The picture section for the 2006 Hopkins 4K is COMPLETE! Lots of nostalgia from putting those up... the last ride across the Golden Gate. Man, I miss you guys.
Not only that, but journals are almost complete too! Just three more to put up. :)
Our 8th week in Nevada is finally there for you to see. Only one more week to go until pictures are complete!
Also, we forgot to mention this earlier in the month, but thanks, thanks, and ever thanks to Brandon of Designsensory for raising both our disk space and bandwidth! Without you, we wouldn't be able to share as many pictures of all the amazing things we've seen and done. Cheers!
Go forth and check out the pictures of our 7th week in Utah!
Also, more journal entries are finally up, after some lost-file digging through Katie Ross' dirty Mac.
Get ready for some Trail Ridge awesomeness and more Colorado prettiness as you wait for all of week 6's pictures to load. More to come. I promise. :)
Here's a shout-out to John and everyone else who still rabidly checks this site daily for updates. :)
Anyhow, more pictures have been added to week 5. Check them out to see our first romp into the Rockies!
Weeks 6-9 are coming...
Sorry about the site being down for a while. The pictures ate up all our bandwidth, so we had to remove a couple of them.
Unfortunately, this means we won't be posting as many pictures for the weeks after 5. But stay tuned for the rest! Now that we're back in civilization for good (which means more easily accessible internet), we're (or I'm) working on it ASAP.
For now, check out the new bio pics of our riders before the Golden Gate!

We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge at 10am this morning! We dipped our front tires in the San Francisco Bay and then gathered with family and friends on the beach to hand out superlatives, say thank-yous, give a toast, and share one last dedication.
Expect photos soon... Rob's camera ran out of batteries this morning, so he will be relying on 4k friends and family to send him pictures for the website! Please contact him at rob@hopkins4k.org to find out where to send pictures.
We have just wrapped up an amazing visit with our friends in Stockton, CA, and will begin our last full day of riding bright and early tomorrow morning! We'll be heading to China Camp State Park, where we will spend the next two nights before crossing over to San Francisco Sunday morning.
We'd love to have you join us as we cross the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco Sunday morning. We will gather at Vista Point on the north side of the bridge at 9am, and will begin crossing at 10am. Ceremonies will begin at 11am at the beach on the San Francisco side of the bridge. We hope to see you there!
Hello from Tonopah, NV! Photos from Weeks 6-8 are updated and a few new journals are up.
Events in San Francisco are being planned... those of you on the newsletter will receive a detailed timeline. Please speak with your rider for full details or if you would like to help us out with any of these events.
We are currently in Bryce Canyon and loving every minute of it! We have also started camping much more on this leg of the trip - it's taking some getting used to, but we are enjoying sleeping under the stars... some of us have never seen the Milky Way!
Here's a new mail drop (we apologize for the late notice, internet access has been hard to find). We will be at this location on Friday, July 23 and for a day off on Saturday, July 24, so please plan accordingly. Note: this is a PO Box, so FedEx is not an option.

As a side note - if you cannot find a piece of old news (like a mail drop), click on "More News" at the bottom of this section to view all the news in chronological order.
We crossed in to the Rockies from Boulder, CO two days ago! We got our first dose of what a challenge altitude can be - it definitely made the first day's climb into Estes Park harder for some (but don't worry, everyone's just fine!). Yesterday we climbed to 12,100 feet along Trail Ridge Road, and then flew down to Grand Lake at 8,000 feet to watch fireworks for the Fourth of July. Today is a day off, and our legs are thanking us!
(Cell phone reception is very poor out here - please keep that in mind and don't let yourself be worried if you cannot get in touch with a rider. We will definitely find a way to immediately contact family members if necessary.)
Phil's first mail drop!! I should warn that this is a P.O. Box, so you CANNOT send FedEx packages (FedEx does not deliver to P.O. Boxes)!! There will be more mail drops to come soon. Here's the information for this newest mail drop:

Over the coming months we will be archiving the entire 2002 site for your continued viewing pleasure.
Happy New Year! As we prepare for our next journey, our 2002 trip comes to a close. We have added the remainder of our journal entries, including the final San Francisco entry, to the travel page. Make sure and check them out, and keep your eyes peeled for the coming 2003 ride.
Today we breached our goal of $50,000 for the summer 2002 Hopkins 4k for Cancer ride. After we totaled all the donations, we presented a check to the American Cancer Society for $50,000! Thank you for all your support once again, and keep watching these pages for updates on next year's ride.
So you want to ride to San Francisco you say? Crazy as it may sound, we are doing it again in the summer of 2003. Click on the link to read more about the next ride, and to apply as one of the lucky twenty-four who will be out there on the road in 2003.
Are you sitting at home wondering how you can spice up your wardrobe for the coming months? We have a solution! Hopkins4K has opened up an online store where you can buy t-shirts, sweatshirts, messenger bags, mugs and more. All of the proceeds will be donated directly to the American Cancer Society.
Our final days are now online for your viewing pleasure. An update has been made to our photo gallery section which contains pictures from our last two weeks. Enjoy the show!
